Niche Affiliate Marketing

By Jason Fulton On September 17, 2008 Under Internet Marketing

Niche affiliate marketing is the straightforward, high-speed way to make money online and is currently one of the hottest topics on the internet today. It involves researching a product and its demand, choice of advertisement and how you can build a viable business around your chosen niche.

Niche affiliate marketing starts with the research of a program or product. You can start your research by visiting Google and Yahoo news; this will give you a feel for what people are talking about. Then visit Ezine articles and have a look at what people are writing about.

After doing some general study you will come up with a main keyword for your product. Once you have your main keyword its best to break it into 100 long-tail keyword variations.

An example would be if you were selling a “digital camera” – this brings back 121 million results in Google now that keyword is to broad a search and one that would be tough to dominate. If we change the keyword to “types of digital cameras” Google gives only 5 million results. Now what do you think the search term “Nikon D40 - Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm lens” brings in? So it’s just a matter of breaking your main keyword into variables that don’t have as much competition.

So choosing the keywords for your product is the most crucial step in niche affiliate marketing but not far behind that is how you plan to advertise your product.

There are many types of advertising that you can use. Firstly you could start a blog and write 100 articles all covering the different long-tail keywords you chose. Post an article daily to your blog which will have your niche affiliate links in the content. Give it a week and then post that article to the top article directories. Doing this will saturate the search engines with your articles and will bring in a load of traffic.

Next you could set up a Pay Per Click campaign using those keywords plus adding some more on. PPC advertising will drive targeted visitors to your affiliate links within hours and is the most efficient way of receiving targeted visitors. PPC marketing works well with niche affiliate marketing as the customers know what they are after and more times than not will purchase the first time they see your add.

When done correctly these two common advertising practices can be enough for you to be making a profitable income from your chosen niche product.

By selecting the right keywords and a product that has enough demand you can make niche affiliate marketing a viable online business. But you must also know that you will not be able to build a viable online business if the market you have chosen has a low demand.

There is certainly money to be made in niche affiliate marketing. It just comes down to finding a product that isn’t saturated and the type of advertising you decide to go with. All in all creating a viable business using niche affiliate marketing is a very capable option.
